When caught up in the maelstrom of a mosh pit, everything is a blur – stage dives, gang vocals, circle pits and flying fists. This phenomena is full of its own codes of chaos and contradictions – a moment of pure primal humanity. While it can be absolutely absurd to anyone who never dove in, it's the only place where I ever felt alive.

Book in the Park

In our earlier years, my partner and I would spend sunny weekends together in the park by the library. We needed to get away from the stress of our day jobs and it only was a block away the apartment that we shared. Our work often required us to continue the job at home – and our yardless apartment offered no relief. We would give anything just to get the feeling of grass between our toes – and I appreciated every blade of it.
